Kit is Yandex’s free store builder: it replaces your backend and lives inside the Direct advertising ecosystem. Frontbox is a storefront and app on top of your own system, run by an engineer on a subscription, with a buyout option. Here is where Kit does the job — and where it ends.

When Kit is the right call

Moving from Yandex Kit to Frontbox
From Kit you can export products (YML or Excel), orders and customers — but not the site itself, its code stays with Yandex. Frontbox rebuilds the storefront on top of your system, or manages the catalog itself.

Kit is free while the site lives in Yandex’s ecosystem and you pay for Direct. Frontbox is code you can buy out, an app, languages, a large catalog and an engineer who runs the store. Count the contractors the subscription replaces, not the subscription price.
Can we move the site out of Kit?
Products, orders and customers — yes, via exports. The site code — no, it stays with Yandex. We rebuild the storefront under your brand.
Will Direct advertising keep working?
Yes. Metrica and e‑commerce events are set up from day one; Direct works with any site.
Our store is small — is Frontbox overkill?
Light from 19,000 ₽/mo is meant for small projects. If there is no budget for a site at all, Kit is an honest choice to start with — and you can move later when you hit its limits.
